On Monday 20 th February, Ego played host to some very special guests.
First up, we welcomed CEO of Invest Victoria and Global Victoria, Danni Jarret, along with her colleagues Rebecca Bailey and George Di Scala, for a tour of our manufacturing facilities.
Ms Jarrett is a great supporter of Australian manufacturing and creating skilled manufacturing jobs within our community, which also aligns strongly with Ego’s values and purpose. It was an honour to host Ms Jarrett and her peers at our Braeside site, and to be able to showcase our own advanced manufacturing capabilities.
Following their visit, we welcomed Professor Alan Finkel to Ego. Alan is an Australian neuroscientist, inventor, researcher, entrepreneur, educator, policy advisor, and philanthropist, and he was also Australia's Chief Scientist from 2016 to 2020. Professor Finkel has made a major contribution to Australia in developing Australia's Energy and Low Emission Technology Policy, and has written the essay 'Getting to Zero - Australia's Energy Transition'.
Ego’s Packaging Projects Manager, Simone Thomassen, and Head of Engineering, Glen Fleming, were given the opportunity to present Ego’s Sustainability Strategy to the Professor, after which he delivered his own presentation to Ego staff about Australia’s transition to a sustainable future.
