FAQs

Resolve products are broad spectrum and are formulated to treat various types of fungal infections on the skin. Resolve products target common skin infections such as:

  • Athlete's foot (tinea pedis)
  • Jock itch (tinea cruris)
  • Ringworm of the body
  • Thrush
  • Fungal infected nappy rash
  • Fungal nail and skin infections such as tinea, paronychia, onychia, pityriasis versicolour.
  • Seborrheic dermatitis
  • Fungal infected eczema/dermatitis
  • Inflamed fungal infections with Resolve Plus 0.5 and Resolve Plus 1.0

These products work by eliminating the fungi causing the infection and in doing so, reducing symptoms like itching, redness, and irritation. Resolve comes in different forms, such as creams or solutions, to target particular conditions and areas.

Resolve products contain the active ingredient miconazole or miconazole nitrate depending on the product, which belongs to the class of imidazole anti-fungals and works to kill and inhibit the growth of various fungi. Resolve Plus 0.5 and Resolve Plus 1.0 also contain hydrocortisone, which is a mild steroid that helps reduce skin inflammation and irritation.

Miconazole works by stopping fungal cells from making a crucial part of their cell membrane called ergosterol. Without ergosterol, the membrane loses its strength and becomes damaged, causing the fungal cell to eventually die. By blocking ergosterol production, Miconazole prevents fungi from growing and spreading, making it useful for treating infections such as athlete's foot, ringworm, and yeast infections.

Resolve products should be applied to the affected area twice daily, and treatment should continue for 2 weeks after symptoms disappear to prevent recurrence. Regular application is essential for successful treatment. Only apply to clean, dry affected areas and avoid using soap during treatment and while infected, as soap may irritate the skin. Resolve Plus products should only be used until symptoms disappear and then they should continue with regular Resolve products for 2 weeks to avoid recurrence.

The difference lies in the concentration of hydrocortisone present. Hydrocortisone is a mild steroid used to reduce inflammation and irritation. Both Resolve Plus products can be used to treat inflamed or itchy tinea such as athlete's foot, jock itch and ringworm, thrush, fungal infected nappy rash, seborrheic dermatitis, and fungal infected eczema/dermatitis. Speak with your doctor or pharmacist for more information about these products.

It is used to treat fungal infections in difficult to reach areas, such as between the toes or around the nails. The quick drying formula helps keep the infected area dry while targeting the fungus causing the infection and helping alleviate symptoms like itching, irritation, and redness.

Yes, Resolve Plus 0.5 and Resolve Plus 1.0 contain hydrocortisone, a mild steroid that helps reduce minor skin inflammation and irritation.

Tinea refers to a group of fungal infections that affect skin, hair, and nails. These fungal infections are called different names based on where they occur on the body, these include:

  • Tinea pedis (athlete's foot) affects the feet
  • Ringworm of the body affects skin on the body
  • Tinea cruris (jock itch) affects the groin area

Resolve products can be used to treat various tinea infections depending on the location and severity of the infections. Always speak to a healthcare professional about which products will work for your needs.

Thrush is a fungal infection caused by an overgrowth of Candida, a type of yeast that can affect the genital area. In adults, genital thrush causes itching, redness, and white discharge in women, and irritation in men. In babies, thrush can infect the nappy area, causing a red, inflamed rash that doesn't improve with regular nappy rash treatments. It's best to consult a healthcare professional for diagnosis and treatment of thrush.
