The Lake Macquarie City Council held its annual You’re Kidding Me Expo in May 2018. Each year, the expo brings together families from Lake Macquarie and Newcastle to provide valuable information about local services that support the learning and development of young children.
The expo, which is in its sixth year, is an event of the You’re Kidding Me program. The program is designed to improve accessibility to early childhood development resources and services, to benefit families and soon to be parents. The services include information on child development, speech, behaviour, nutrition, health and parenting tips. With the aim of the program to strengthen the relationship between local organisations and families within the Lake Macquarie community there is a great deal of interest and participation from the community on the expo.
This year, the expo had an audience of 450 people walk through its doors. A variety of expert presenters and industry professionals were available ranging from speech therapists to baby health nurses that were available to answer parent’s questions and discuss child development. KidSafe provided free car seat checks for parents and children were able to stay entertained in the active living zone.
Ego was proud to have the opportunity to support the Lake Macquarie City Council by allowing parents to sample products from the QV Skincare range that are available from local pharmacy.
Congratulations to the Lake Macquarie City Council for hosting another successful expo that supports their local community.
