Ego Pharmaceuticals has won two national titles at the Australian Exporter of the Year Awards for 2017, taking out the award for the category of Manufacturing as well as the overall award of Australian Exporter of the Year.
Ego Pharmaceuticals is an Australian made and owned business which manufactures dermatological skin care, including well-known brands such as QV Skincare, SunSense, Aqium hand sanitiser and Elucent skincare. Established in 1953, it now produces 120 products and has seen huge growth in international markets in recent years.
The 55th Australian Export Awards ceremony was held in Canberra on 5th December 2017 before an audience of 500 guests. Hosted by the Hon. Steven Ciobo MP, Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, 12 national category winners were announced at the ceremony with Ego Pharmaceuticals recognised as Australia’s Australian Exporter of the Year for 2017.
The Australian Export Awards is a national program that recognises and honours Australian companies engaged in international business who have achieved sustainable growth through innovation and commitment. The Awards measure businesses against their peers based on the strength of their international growth, marketing and financial strategies. They are co-presented by Austrade and the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Judges commended Ego on their commitment to continual improvement underpinning their export activities and their clear export strategy. No strangers to the awards, this is Ego Pharmaceuticals second national title, having won the category of Health and Biotechnology in 2016, showing just how impressive their export business and strategy continues to be.
As a family-owned, Australian brand, Ego Pharmaceutical’s reputation has been built on over 60 years of dedication to provide its loyal customers with specialist, quality skincare. Although expanding with large exports internationally, the brand remains true to its Australian heritage and continues to manufacture all of its products in Victoria.
When asked how such continual growth has been achieved, Ego Pharmaceuticals MD, Alan Oppenheim commented,
“Our growth is driven by a whole lot of people; we have 580 people across 12 nations. It’s a lot of commitment, a lot of passion, a lot of science and living the values, the family values of Ego.”
